Wait, weren’t we just here? Yes, because the VMAs were on Wednesday — and, for what it’s worth, the rescheduled 2023 Emmys were in January, which feels more recent than it actually is. Good news: We’ve caught up to the correct timeline, because the 2024 Emmys are today. And of course, we shall chat!
Laverne Cox and the rest of the peeps from E! will be hitting the red carpet for their traditional pre-show at 3 p.m. PT/6 p.m. ET, while ABC’s official pre-show starts at 4 p.m./7 p.m. for what will surely be a more polished experience, production-wise. (No disrespect to E!, which of course we will watch. It’s just that ABC is the host of this party and has the deeper pockets.) The Emmys themselves kick off at 5 p.m. PT/8 p.m. ET and everyone should say a brief prayer of thanksgiving that there is no tape delay involved and hence you will not need to hear us bitch about that again.
