Just How Bad WAS Aidan on Sex and the City?

Back in January, you likely heard a collective shriek ‘round the world when Sarah Jessica Parker and the And Just Like That… team released a photo on Instagram of Carrie Bradshaw walking hand-in-hand with John Corbett’s Aidan Shaw. It was not a happy shriek. And it was not soothed by the photos dribbling out from shooting, including this snap of them kissing, confirming that Aidan’s reappearance is very much NOT a dream sequence, unless the plot for this season is that Carrie fell into an illustrative coma where she imagines her life went an entirely different way. Honestly, the Sex and the City fans of the world might prefer that. Because while I know Aidan has some supporters out there, presumably including SJP, I have never personally encountered one — and that includes legendary costumer Pat Field, who conveyed her distaste in her recent memoir.
