Greetings, fellow Broads, and welcome to the penultimate open chat of Awards Season 2025 — an awards season that, if I may be so bold, has been absolutely all over the place. But we’re right here and ready to get into Hollywood’s most self-congratulatory, and also speediest, awards show: the SAGs.1
This year’s pre-show — like the show-show — is streaming tonight on Netflix, at 7 p.m. ET / 4 p.m. PT. (You can also watch both the pre-show and the awards on Netflix’s YouTube channel, I think.) Said pre-show is co-hosted by Lilly Singh and Sasheer Zamata, both of whom I expect to do a perfectly reasonable job. (Singh had a late night chat show, so I’m sure she’ll be fine. Sasheer certainly has live TV experience from SNL and apparently also has a podcast; every time I ever saw her at NYFW, she seemed extremely personable, so why not.)
