I am currently prepping for a move and have correspondingly spent the last week or so cleaning out everything – my closets, my garage space, my office, and, most crucially, my bookshelves. I ended up donating eleven bankers boxes of books, but there were several I could not bear to part with even though I had totally forgotten them until I unearthed them: a signed copy of Tim Gunn’s first book, exhorting me to (of course) “make it work!;” Erica Kane’s faux autobiography, Having It All, in which she includes such useful tidbits as how to keep your hair bouncy even when you’ve been wrongly imprisoned for murder; and, the topic of today’s spotlight, the 1996 masterwork from my own personal idol: In the Kitchen With Miss Piggy: Fabulous Recipes From My Famous Celebrity Friends, which is definitely chockablock with the latter if not the former.
