RHoNY, once one of the jewels in the crown of the Real Housewives franchise, has recently fallen on hard times. All the Bravo unscripted shows were somewhat hamstrung by Covid, as the non-competition ones live and die by the women going to various goofy events/foreign countries and screaming at each other while the civilians in the background make faces. Is The Real Housewives truly itself if its titular characters are not getting wasted in a Mexican villa and then falling into a bush before crying in one another’s arms about a fight they’ve had regarding a toaster oven? Certainly not.
