The Best, Worsts, Mosts, and Leasts of the SAG Awards
Also, yes, one of us DID see Cocaine Bear.
We nattered about this last week, but it bears repeating: The Screen Actors Guild Awards is a major event that draws a major red carpet and produces a lot of major looks (all of which -- plug alert! -- are covered on GFY today, so swing on by). It’s on par with the Golden Globes for guest list and spectacle, and yet NBC would rather pour money into those oft-problematic coffers than invest in making the SAGs buzzy. When the SAGs lost their TNT contract and were desperate for a home this year, Netflix had to step in last-minute and put them on its YouTube (!!) page. At least they’re supposed to graduate to the streamer itself next year, but it’s ironic that the very artists who provide the broadcast networks their content couldn’t buy a TV time slot.
And so! If you couldn’t find the SAGs, or even if you could, here is our rundown of what went down, superlatives-style.
