First, and crucially: This episode had some of the most insane, unhinged hats I’ve ever seen. Almost every time a woman popped up on screen, her hat was RIDICULOUS. It was delightful, and only occasionally distracting. Just imagine almost every non-servant woman I mention wearing a florescent rooster tied to her head at all times. What a treat. As, in fact, was the rest of this very soapy, very action-packed episode. We are finally cooking with gas on this show!

Charles Fane is a TOTAL DICK this entire episode — totally cold and unmoved by Aurora sobbing that she doesn’t want a divorce, and that this will RUIN HER LIFE, which is not actually an exaggeration.
