The seventh episode brought a whole slew of our famous cast members to one location in Long Island: the home of Charles’s semi-estranged sister, Doreen. I waited and waited for the Melissa McCarthy episode to arrive, and I knew she was playing Charles’s sister, but didn’t want to speculate about her directly in case people didn’t know any of this — though I did wonder if she’d turn out to be involved in the murder scheme. Having seen it, I don’t think so. Doreen is no evil mastermind. You need a degree of subtlety, and she’s about as stealth and discreet as a bullhorn.
The victims: Once again, all of us, because this episode is called “Valley of the Dolls” for a very specific reason, and that is the HIGH NUMBER OF DOLLS PRESENT. We might even be in Trigger Warning territory.
Count me among the people who find dolls haunting and probably haunted and altogether unsettling. I didn’t even like them when I was a kid. No My Little Pony in my vast collection ever seemed interested in sucking…
