I cannot believe this is our final open thread of the 2024 Paris Olympics. It has been an absolute pleasure and a blast to hang out with everyone for the last two weeks plus — and, although there’s a day left to go, I feel comfortable noting that Paris nailed this. These Olympics were so scenic! So thrilling! So moving! They had, crucially, SUCH GOOD VIBES. By and large, these Games were mostly marked with camaraderie, good sportspersonship, thrilling come-from-behind wins, historically picturesque venues, athletes supporting athletes, and also — crucially — some extremely beautiful people. Here, we clocked (as of Saturday afternoon, so this is not the final count) 10,683 comments! I hope everyone, Olympians and Broads alike, had fun!
