
I know we’ve noted this in literally every newsletter throughout these games, but yesterday was eventful: Noah Lyles took bronze in the 200m, his best event, and later revealed that he did so with Covid, while Kung Fu Kenny Bednarek (yay!) got silver and Letsile Tebogo of Botswana, who did look SCORCHING in his heats, won gold; Sydney McLaughlin-Levrone won the 400m hurdles with ease and elan and set a world record, with fellow American Anna Cockrell getting the silver; the Americans also took gold AND bronze in the long jump (yay, Tara Davis-Woodhall and Jasmine Moore! Also yay to German long jumper Malaika Mihambo who grabbed the silver! YAY EVERYONE); and Grant Holloway and Daniel Roberts went one-two in the men’s 400m. hurdles.
