As I said in the chat: What a week yesterday was! The women’s soccer quarterfinals were intense, the USA won three more gymnastics medals and the Philippines won its first in that discipline when Carlos Yulo took gold on the floor! Swimmer Alex Walsh was DQ’d after winning bronze in the medley for messing up a nuance of the turn between backstroke and butterfly! Australia’s men’s doubles tennis team pulled off a comeback in against the USA! And track & field delivered big drama on a slick and wet surface. An unprecedented threepeat for American shot-putter Ryan Crouser! A win for Norway in the Decathlon! A SHOCKING upset in the 4x400 mixed relay when The Netherlands subbed in Femke Bol and she KILLED the final leg! The unexpected scratch of Jamaica’s Shelly-Ann Fraser-Pryce in her final Olympics, for reasons no one has TOTALLY nailed down, from what I can tell?!? Seems like an injury from warmups?!? And:
