I keep a list of newsletter ideas in the notes app on my phone, and as I was going through it this weekend in preparation to figure out what to write today, it occurred to me that it might be funny for people to discuss what random lists they have on their phone. I use my notes app SO MUCH, after an entire lifetime of being a person who preferred to scribble stuff on a scrap of paper and then lose it in the bottom of my purse. I still use a (huge) physical notebook for something like party planning or to take notes during important phone calls, and I still use paper for my grocery lists, but otherwise I have fully transitioned to writing all kinds of random shit in my notes app — and often not deleting it, which is why I found a note the other day that just read, “CHILI.”
