The bar is open!

Hello, and Happy Oscars Sunday! We’re thrilled to be hosting our first Drinks With Broads open thread here at Bar Substack (ugh, that’s terrible, let’s workshop it). Fingers crossed something thrilling happens (good thrilling, to be clear), and that several Somebodys wear something insane.

E! begins their red carpet coverage early today at 2 p.m. PT, ABC kicks off theirs at 3:30 p.m., and the Academy Awards proper start at 5 p.m PT on ABC (and streaming on ABC.com, Hulu + Live TV, and YouTube TV). The actual red carpet action doesn’t really heat up until 3:30ish — but it’s always fun to see who arrives first to take advantage of the photo pit’s undivided attention. We’ll be kicking off today’s open comments at 2 p.m. PT/5 p.m ET, and can’t wait to see you there! Come on by whenever you’re ready to get into it, the doors will be open.
