Happy Met Gala Day! This evening, all kinds of celebs and designers will be convening at the Metropolitan Museum of Art, ostensibly to raise money for their Costume Institute, but also to be widely photographed in over-the-top outfits. This year’s theme (and the museum’s spring exhibit) is “Karl Lagerfeld: A Line of Beauty,” and Vogue notes that the dress code for the gala is simply “in honor of Karl.” (A theme which is not without conflict, which Amy Odell, author of Anna: The Biography, has been covering adeptly these last few weeks in her excellent newsletter
