Bring Back Catalogs!
Their classic covers are certainly better than this month's British Vogue.
Since taking over British Vogue from Edward Enninful, Chioma Nnadi has made some intriguing cover choices: in April, f.k.a. Twigs plonked atop a cab; in May, Zendaya covered both UK and USA Vogue differently; June was a very spare shot of Sophie Turner; July featured Central Cee, a rapper with a streetwear design who is that rare thing — a man on Vogue — and also feels like an effort to plunge deeper into pop culture than the obvious; and August’s cover was Suki Waterhouse & Child, in a shot that feels more like something they designed for Sienna Miller at some point and then slid Suki into instead. That’s a good range of celebs and relative fame levels, especially inside the U.K. vs. outside its realm, and there’s a fashion and personal-style argument to be made for all of them in addition to Attempts Being Made to create an artistic or striking cover. And then its September issue came out, and it featured… Kylie Jenner vamping in front of a floral wall.
