I don’t know if it speaks well for the new Sam Mendes Beatles project that I spent MANY hours checking to make sure it wasn’t an April Fool’s Day joke, despite the fact that Sony Pictures announced this at Cinemacon on March 31:
This is… horrible. It is horrible. This casting is horrible. NONE of these people looks like the Beatle he is playing. (Someone on FauxMoi wailed, “CAST SOMEONE WITH EYEBROWS” regarding George Harrison and it’s extremely true.) In fact, this entire project is potentially deranged. Per The Hollywood Reporter:
Director Sam Mendes took the stage at CinemaCon in Las Vegas to reveal the cast for the features and said that all four films are set for theatrical release in April 2028. The surprising plans to make four films — one for each member of the famed band — were first announced last year. …
