As regular readers know, I am a collector of vintage cookbooks (as well as housekeeping manuals, and etiquette books) and occasionally we dip into them to see what kind of amusing, kooky, or delicious (or all three) recipes the Cookbooks of Yore tried to convince home cooks to serve to their friends and family. Today, I bring you 500 Snacks: Bright Ideas for Entertaining:
500 Snacks is technically not a book. 500 Snacks is a little magazine that I found tucked inside my copy of How to Beat Those Cordon Bleus, a delightful cookbook circa 1974 that I especially love because the person who owned it before I bought it at an estate sale took copious notes inside, ranging from simply “good” and the date he or she made said good recipe, to these more lengthy notes on the “perfect roast turkey.”
