Elana Meyers Taylor, on the left, has been to five Olympic games and had won three silver and two bronze medals prior to winning her first gold on Monday, at age 41. She is a total badass, she thanked her nannies when she won, her two boys— born 2020 and 2022 — are deaf and one has Down syndrome so she is also tireless and an advocate for them, and she has been outspoken about experiencing racism in her profession, including by sled manufacturers who wouldn’t sell to Black women. SHE SHOWED THEM. Next to her is Kallie Humphries, the reigning gold medalist, who is 40 and won bronze; she also is the first woman to win Olympic gold for two different countries, as prior to 2019 she repped Canada (she switched to sledding for the U.S. because of alleged abuse and harassment). I am thrilled for them both, and can everyone please stop acting like women over 40 mi…
