Who Needs a Distraction?!?

The American election is on Tuesday and I am, as I said on Go Fug Yourself a couple of days ago, pre-fried. I am hanging on by a thread, friends! I suspect I am not alone in this. We may all need what I call DISTRACTABLES. This concept is exactly what it sounds like: something that will distract you from whatever you’re trying not to think about for, say, 10-15 minutes. Or more! But ten minutes is a great start! I have a few, but I desperately need further options — and you might, too, so let’s all share our Distractables in the comments.
Puppies. Last month, I started training my Instagram algorithm to show me as many posts as possible featuring cute animals by engaging heavily with cute animal posts and clicking into every cute animal post on my Explore page. (I do not have TikTok because I don’t have the capacity to take anything else on but I’m sure it works more or less the same.) This took effect way more quickly than I thought it would — I guess congrats to the Meta overlords? —…
