Venus Is Married, and Is Marty Supreme?

Celebrity wedding season is back, and Oscar movie season is in full swing.

After several months without a big splashy celebrity wedding — which is, frankly, rude to me and to everyone else who enjoys looking at other people’s nuptials — we got two over the holiday break: musician Este Haim married some man, and tennis legend Venus Williams also married some man. A big month for random dudes! Let’s dive in. We’ll do this alphabetically and start with Este.

The Bride: Este Haim, of the band Haim. Este is the oldest of the Haim sisters, the Isaac Hanson of the group, if you will (presumably without the troubling political beliefs). She is also, like myself, a graduate of UCLA, so she is automatically my favorite Haim. Go Bruins!

The Groom: As noted, he is some man. His name is Jonathan Levin, a Brit with a master’s degree in economics and philosophy from Oxford — fancy! — who, per Elle, is the co-founder of “Chainalysis, a cryptocurrency company.” Ugh.
