Vitally important question: How is it that The Olympics are STILL using “Girl On Fire” for all of their ads?!?!?!!? Listen, no disrespect to Ms. Alicia Keys and I am thrilled that she got that sweet NBC music licensing money, but it’s been like a DECADE NOW. (I looked it up; it’s been eight years and THREE Olympics.) I know NBC has decided this is the song they play when an American woman is a good skier who also got wildly injured at some point but PLEASE FOR THE LOVE OF GOD TRY SOMETHING NEW. “Girl on Fire” is not “One Shining Moment,” we can mix it up without a public outcry! (Also I think that maybe the Olympics should play “One Shining Moment” at the end. Frankly, I think every major sporting event — the Olympics, the World Series, the Masters — should end with a montage set to “One Shining Moment.”) I mean, bring back “One Moment in Time,” for Pete’s sake! I would be happy to watch an ad of someone luge-ing down an icy tunnel to the tune of “Chariots of Fire”! Let’s get some fre…
