The Bests, Worsts, Mosts and Leasts of the 2025 Emmy Awards

Well, that was fun. Seriously! Maybe it was because so many shows we enjoy and actors we love were nominated for Emmys, meaning that pretty much any outcome was a happy one. Maybe it’s because there were some extra-delightful surprises providing cherries on those sundaes. It could be because Nate Bargatze was a pretty competent emcee for the evening, or that Stephen Colbert took home an Emmy on the very network that foolishly cancelled him out of pure cowardice, or that the In Memoriam immediately wrung out our feelings just the way it ought. And of course, it’s definitely because our Broads had a hell of a time in the comments of the live chat -- one of our very favorite things this space has brought us. We may be six months removed from the Oscars, but it’s still awards season, and the 2025 Emmys were a (mostly) triumphant way to conclude it.
