If you are new to Drinks With Broads and haven’t heard us sing this old refrain, let us fire up another performance: Watching the Tonys is never going to be a waste of an evening. Sure, the sound mix might be jacked up, as it was on Sunday, and yeah, someone might sound less than stellar (ditto). But a program designed to honor folks who excel at live performances is unlikely to fall apart on stage, and, indeed, Sunday’s Tony Awards delivered professionalism as it always does, even if the entire affair started with a pre-show shuttled off onto Pluto. The streaming service, not the planet, although it felt similarly remote. Let’s break it all down. If we were feeling corny, we’d kick this off with a five, six, seven, eight, but...well, too late.
