I love an episode that really knows how to use its players. Da’Vine Joy Randolph got to mix it up with pretty much everyone this week, including fellow Oscar winners Renee Zellweger, Meryl Streep, and Dianne Wiest, and it was a delight. Meryl deployed yet another accent, to the point where I’ve decided the show is hoping to break some kind of record. Renee got to have Meryl in her ear almost literally the entire time, and Dianne smoked a fake blunt (I ASSUME) with Selena Gomez. Her twittery delivery works so interestingly against Selena’s flat affect. Steve Martin Short are wonderful too, of course, but I did love this episode being so much about these women and women in general — Oliver’s and Charles’s storylines, too.
The victim: We don’t have a new one. Unless you count The Arconia itself, fighting for its life versus Camila White’s scheme to turn it into a beigewashed casino. If anything bad happens to any more of Oliver’s or Charles’s excellent wallpaper and flooring… well, I do t…
