"Love Story," "Baywatch," and... a "Gilded Age" Time Jump?
Plus another short Olympics rant.
I was on the Extra Hot Great podcast this week discussing Love Story, the new Ryan Murphy executive-produced joint about John F. Kennedy, Jr., and Carolyn Bessette-Kennedy, enabling me to launch two of my favorite rants: 1) Ryan Murphy must be stopped, and 2) I HATE MARKY MARK. But venting my spleen in one place has never prevented me from venting my spleen in another, so you are in for another round of My Thoughts. On EHG — and, please don’t let me yapping about this here prevent you from listening to the episode! — I noted that I did not recommend the show, with huge caveats. And it is true that I went back and forth for a few days over whether or not to give Love Story my thumbs up.
There is a lot about Love Story that is excellent: the music is great; the ‘90s milieu is nostalgic and fun; and the titular love story is extremely well done.
