Bridgerton's fourth season has four episodes; let's discuss how it's going.
Dearest Gentle Reader,
For reasons that defy logic or explanation, excepting of course a desire for the actor who plays Gregory Bridgerton to flourish through puberty into a young Jonathan Bailey, it takes two years to produce an eight-episode season of Bridgerton. We have finally arrived in the bosom season four, based on the third book, An Offer from a Gentleman.
Okay, I can’t keep up the Lady Whistledown shtick — and, of note, the show is also struggling in this regard. The first four episodes dropped together on January 29, and the next four appear tomorrow, so this seemed like a good time to discuss how it’s going. I can’t decide yet. In the words of Moira Rose, my opinion is pleased to RSVP as… pending. I will note that of all the seasons of Bridgerton, the only one I’m ever tempted to re-watch is (parts of) season two, thanks to the yearning of Jonathan Bailey and the gloriousness of Simone Ashley, which overcomes a lot of questionable story decisions.
