First off, a visit to Corrections Corner: Last week, the closed captioning told us that Elizabeth Kirkland announced that Arthur “isn’t an important man,” but it appears this was an error, and she actually said he isn’t “a Newport man.” This is still quite snooty and rude, but not as full-on psychotically insulting.

That squared away, let’s get right into it. This season is COOKING WITH GAS. Well, not literally. Maybe? When did gas stoves — you know what, I have enough to Wiki as it is! No time to dilly-dally with kitchen appliances.

The Fanes

Let’s start with Poor Aurora, currently a sad angel up in Newport, delicately sobbing constantly in a complicated hat. Having Aurora be the wronged woman in this scenario is a work of genius in so many ways; she is the nicest person in the entire show, and Kelli O’Hara’s entire aura is pure wholesome sweetness. Making her sad feels doubly cruel; no one was going to be on Charles Fane’s side here. Anyway, basicall…
