Hello everyone! And welcome to your open thread for the first weekend of the NCAA basketball tournament! If you’re reading this early enough, you might have time to get your brackets done if you haven’t tackled that yet: the brackets lock when the games begin today at approximately 9:15 a.m. PT. You can find our pools at Dunks With Broads and Dunks With Broads: Men’s Edition. No prizes, but the greatest of bragging rights.
Today kicks off the first round of the men’s tourney, with games today and Friday, then the second round there is scheduled for Saturday and Sunday. The women’s tourney starts tomorrow, with the rest of the first and second round games on Saturday, Sunday, and Monday. Will the UCLA women be able to topple UConn to win the whole thing this year? (I, a UCLA alum, am honestly praying that someone takes them down first, just for my own nerves. UTSA Roadrunners, you’re up!) Will the UCLA men get out of the second round? Am I just writin…
