I know that experts say you should put down your smartphone an hour before bed. Especially if you are someone whose brain has trouble slowing down and leaving the dilemmas of the week behind, which… *raises hand*. But unfortunately I am also a creature of habit, and one of my favorites involves crawling into bed with my husband and doing what we affectionately refer to as our homework: various games we’ve gotten addicted to and which we primarily enjoy doing together. Could we do them literally any other time that does not involve getting my eyeballs all hyped at a time when they should be closing up shop? I mean, if you want to be all practical about it, yes, definitely. But where’s the fun in that? And unlike reading a book on my gentler Kindle, our homework has an end point that don’t have me burning the midnight oil until 3:30 a.m. because I lack restraint.
