I am an idiot. When I shuffled things for Rivals recaps, I did it based on the finale date and forgot that I would actually have to write and publish the coverage of said finale, so I rescheduled this book club sesh for a week too early. Luckily I don’t think anyone is paying as close attention to the schedule as I am supposed to be, anyway, but still: Whoops. Sorry about that. But we are here now, a week late but better that than never.
Previously on Book Club: Tough Guy, which had a lot of promise but fell flat. (Also, we recapped Heated Rivalry, in case you missed those.) To be clear, since we’re heading into the second book in what I deem the second tier of Rachel Reid’s work, the existence and popularity of these books is a goddamn treasure even if I don’t love every inch of each one. They don’t have to be perfect; they just have to be.
