Quick question: Are catalogs back? I ask this because I feel like I’ve seen an uptick of them in my own mailbox. In addition to the usual offerings from Zingerman’s — an excellent and charming catalog and a great place to buy coffee cake by mail — and Boden, I’ve also gotten two Hammacher Schlemmer catalogs in two weeks, and just yesterday I got one from Goop. Goop!
Hammacher Schlemmer’s offering was its classic selection of stuff I’d call High Class SkyMall — which is not a ding; I do need a place to buy a heated towel warmer, or a leaf-collecting lawn sweeper, or “The Best Ideal Temperature Dry Eye Relief Mask” — but Gwyneth’s was obviously meant to be chic, on matte paper stock with Goop herself looking very self-satisfied on the cover1.
